Explain about the Thin Film Transistor
TFT full form is Thin Film Transistor, it is a type of transistor which is made of semiconductor material. It has a low power consumption, which means it needs less power to operate. TFT uses the idea of semiconductors to operate based on analog signals. This device is mainly used in CRT screens and solar cells.
This device consists of two layers of conducting layers that are separated by an insulating layer such as silicon or glass. Thin film transistors are very important in electronic devices because they can be easily mass produced and they work well even if they break or wear out with no changes needed in their design.
How does it work?
The TFT is a three terminal device, the three terminals are called the source, gate and drain. The first layer of the transistor is made from a strong, durable and high-conductivity semiconductor material such as silicon or germanium. The second layer also has two different conducting layers that are made of insulating materials such as silicon dioxide, gallium arsenide etc. These Thin Film Transistor layers are separated by an insulator that does not conduct electricity which makes sure that only one conducting layer can be on at any point in time with electrical contact to the source and drain.
About the Thin Film Transistor:
TFT full form is Thin Film Transistor. The thin film transistor which was named as TFT LCD display. It has been the most popular display panel technology since the production of electronic devices that use liquid crystal displays (LCDs). Many other companies started producing their own versions of TFT LCD displays, this included Hitachi, Sharp and Sony. TFT is made up with layers that have different absorption properties to control light wavelengths which means they can be used for colour screens and also can be produced very quickly.
