To know about the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation
SAARC Full Form is South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation. It is to encourage active engagement and mutual aid, and collaborate with international and regional organisations. It is a regional organisation of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Afghanistan and Iran were also members but they have since left the association. The headquarters of the association is in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The objectives of the association are as follows:
India proposed the creation of SAARC at its 13th summit meeting in New Delhi. The member states agreed to formally establish the association on the sidelines of their annual summit meeting in Dhaka. The 1st South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit was held in Dhaka with participation from all seven founding members. The 2nd South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Summit was held in Islamabad; it was attended by heads of government/state/appointment and delegates from all members, except for Bhutan which could not participate because it had no diplomatic relations with Pakistan at that time.
The 3rd South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit was held in Kathmandu, Nepal. The summit was attended by heads of government/state and ministers of foreign affairs and heads of diplomatic missions who represented all members except Bhutan which did not participate due to the political situation at that time. Several agreements were signed at the summit.

SAARC Full Form is South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation is a transnational organisation for the eight South Asian countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka). Dhaka Summit Resolution as a high level forum where all heads of state or government attend. The summit was held in Kathmandu and held every two years. SAARC has also been considered a political and economic framework to resolve regional issues among South Asian countries. Since the SAARC summit in Nepal there have been eleven summits organised under SAARC.
