Lieutenant Governor:
The full form of LG is Lieutenant Governor. Lieutenant Governors exist in union territories including the National Capital Territory (NCT) Delhi. The governor acts as the formal head, where else the actual power lies in the hands of chief ministers of the states or council of ministers.
The Lieutenant Governor is appointed by the exemption of the prime minister. The prime minister suggests a nominee to the federal council, after that, they pass an Order to the council to be approved by the Governor.
Governor vs. Lieutenant Governor:
In the precedence, Lieutenant Governors do not hold the same position as a governor. The governor and lieutenant governor’s ruling period is five years and they are appointed by the president of the respective country. Meanwhile, Governors exist in the states, while Lieutenant governors exist in union territories including Delhi.
Generally, the lieutenant governor is the state’s highest officer following the governor, their major role is to act when the Governor is out of station or immobilized.
Responsibilities of Lt.Governor:
